The ONLY Learning That Matters!

In school, they never taught us HOW to Think.

They taught us how to read, write, do math, and collect, organize and analyze data.

They taught us history, as it is spun by those who wrote its books.

But they didn’t teach us how to think for ourselves –
how to discover our own TRUTH.

They taught us WHAT to think.
If we knew HOW to think critically for ourselves, we
might become a challenge for those who want to control
us, to bind us in mental slavery.
To be FREE, to truly OWN our lives, we must learn and
understand the power we have within, and how to control
and utilize our valuable tool and asset – our MINDS.
More than 80 years ago Napoleon Hill wrote a manual and
handbook for the powerful human mind – Think and Grow
Rich
.
Thousands of people have read the book, but most read
it the way they were taught in school – and completely
missed its lessons and secrets.
Hiil and his publishers instructed us to read the book
repeatedly, and form a study group – to benefit from
the points of view of others and utilize the Power of
the MASTERMIND.
While there are many such study groups around the
world, including webinars, most of them are led by one
or a few individuals who present their brilliant
insights to the groups.
The problem with the groups is that, in order to
discover the lessons and secrets, You must engage and
actively PARTICIPATE in the discussion.
I know of only one group who not only permits, but
actually begs, its members to Participate.
The Mentoring For Free Mastermind group enables all its
members to add their written and verbal insights to the
discussion – for the benefit of all.
Its Think and Grow Rich Lessons program charges no
tuition, nor any other fees, and explores one chapter
in depth every week. They have been doing so for more
than 12 years.
I greatly appreciate the thousands of folks who have
added value to this group over the years.

Why 98% of New Businesses Fail

disappointment

Why do 98% of all new businesses fail within their
first 2 years? (That is ALL businesses, not just MLM.)

Hill gives us a thorough lesson in economics in Chapter
7.

There’s an old saying… “If a man will not work, he
shall not eat.”
(2 Thessalonians 3:10)

As civilizations grew, the demand for the Services of
specialized skills increased. As we entered the
Industrial Age and now, the Information Age, it became
impossible for any one person to be proficient in every
skill needed by the community.

So we bartered our Services and developed currency to
make trading Services easier.

Yet somehow, since the dawn of the Information Age, an
entire generation of Internet users have been
conditioned to believe they can earn money without
productive work or performing wanted Services!

This is pure ECONOMIC INSANITY.

98% of businesses are started by lazy people driven by
a Fear-based need to make money. (Fear is the root of
all Negative Emotions including Greed, Jealousy, Anger,
Hatred and Revenge.)

Our friend Jim’s uncle passed away and left Jim a nice
corner lot downtown.

When Jim was a teenager he enjoyed working on cars with
his buddies. So Jim figures a lot of folks need auto
repairs and maintenance and decides to open an auto
repair shop.

In the beginning Jim services some cars, does a good
job, and business picks up.

But Jim also like to take time off to go fishing. He
does not want the hassle of hiring, training and
supervising other mechanics.

So Jim takes cars across the street to Bob’s Auto
Repair to has them do the work. When the work is
complete he brings the cars back and bills his
customers what Bob’s charged him, plus 30% for his
profit – without any value-added services.

How long do You think Jim will stay in business?

With an MLM distributorship – You don’t invent or
develop the products; You don’t manufacture, package
and label them; You don’t process payments or ship the
products.

So, what value-added Services will You provide to
warrant the earnings You expect to receive?

Leadership is not about awards and recognition.
Leadership is a willingness to get one’s hands dirty
and bloodied while blazing a trail to make the
followers’ journey easier.

In other words, a Leader SERVES the Followers. Service
is the engine of success and leadership.

The 98% who fail do so because their driving motivation
is Fear.

The 2% who succeed thrive and endure due to a
Love-driven desire to SERVE.

Knowledge is Not Enough

fire-hand-ovenKnowledge is not enough.

You can attend schools, read books, listen to audios,
watch videos..and acquire no Skills – zero, zip, nada,
bupkis.

There’s an old saying… “Experience is the best teacher.”

We learn by making mistakes. Everything we learned and
mastered required many mistakes: Walking, talking,
riding a bike, throwing a ball, reading, writing, basic
math, cooking, etc.

Usually the best lessons learned are those very painful
and costly mistakes. “Careful! The stove is hot!” took
on a whole new level of understanding the first time
You touched a red-hot one.

“Wow, wow, WOW!!!!! Oh, my GAWD, that HURTS!!!!!! Huh?

The sad thing is, the Fear of making mistakes holds
folks back from learning new skills or mastering old
ones. But, wait a minute… WE CANNOT MASTER NEW SKILLS
WITHOUT MAKING MISTAKES.

Another old saying…”If You want to swim, You have to
get wet.”

Learning some things, like swimming, should not be
attempted without a Mentor. When choosing a Mentor,
look for these two qualities…
1. A vested interest;
2. Competence.

Someone who loves You very much does not want You to
drown, but be sure they demonstrate swimming ability
before allowing them to teach You.

Success in Network Marketing requires mastering some
People Skills.

At Mentoring For Free we teach the Personality Colors
skill. Yeah, there’s a video to watch, a CD to a listen
to and a book to read…

But, unlike anyone else I know of who teaches about
personalities, we provide live, hands-on Practice 3
times every week.

On these 3 conference calls we also teach the skill of
Talking to people…and the Critical skill of
LISTENING.

Your Mentor will demonstrate how to have good telephone
dialogues and leave voice messages. Then Your Mentor
will let You practice doing the same, all the while
standing by You with a life preserver in case You get
into trouble.

All of us mastered these Skills this way…and, so far,
in almost 12 years, no one has drowned.

Your Friend and Servant,

Ken Klemm

The Sercret Revealed

The Secret Shield Against NegativityHush, hush! We are about to explore Chapter 11 of Think
and Grow Rich – the most highly sensitive material in
the book!

This chapter is about Magnetism, Attraction, and the
MOST POWERFUL CREATIVE FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE.

This chapter has been removed from some editions of
TGR, not because of the so-called “sexual content”, but
because of the sensitive SECRET it reveals.

Kinesiology

Over this past weekend we watched and discussed Michael
Dlouhy’s video, Proving the Power of Thought –
available at MichaelDlouhyMentor.com

The video demonstrates kinesiology, or muscle testing –
an ancient method of directing energy vibrations into
the body via the energy center of the thymus gland.

When food or other items are held against the area of
the thymus gland, the entire body becomes stronger or
weaker to the degree the item is good or bad for the
body. The thymus gland picks up the vibrational
patterns of the items.

Many folks have used this method to identify foods or
materials which cause allergic reactions with them.

(Napoleon Hill touches on Vibration again briefly in
Chapter 13, the Brain – but not as extensively as he
did in his “Law of Success in 16 Lessons”.)

Wowed and Amazed

Most viewers commented on how they were wowed and
amazed by the demonstration. They focused on how they
could prove the healthy benefits of their products to
others.

…but they missed the point of the training! The REAL
lesson was revealed when the test subject, Kenny
Wilson, reacted physically to the THOUGHTS Michael
projected at him.

When Michael thought, “Good boy,” Kenny became very
strong. When he thought, “Bad boy,” Kenny became
helplessly weak.

…but still most people missed the big point. Kenny
realized it and spoke it during the last few seconds of
the video: “So, when we think negative thoughts toward
people, they pick up that energy!”

The Power to Create or Destroy

So, here is revealed the awesome responsibility we have
regarding our thoughts to others…

If we think negative thoughts or project negative
feelings toward others, and this causes weakness in
their bodies, then how much damage are we causing to
their overall health via our negativity?

Now, on the flip side, when we project POSITIVE
thoughts and feelings, and those vibrations strengthen
their bodies, then how much are we affecting their
overall health?

Does this explain the POWER behind Faith Healing, or
the “laying on of hands”?

Hill tells us the [human expression] of the MOST
POWERFUL FORCE IN THE UNIVERSE is the combined
Emotional Energy of SEX, LOVE and ROMANCE. It ignites
the FORCE of GENIUS.

He and many philosophers, both ancient and modern,
believe this INTENSE LOVE is the Force which manifested
the material universe from the energy of pure
consciousness!

(Go ahead and read ANY ancient spiritual texts, from
ANY religious belief system, and You will see the
evidence of this Universal Truth!)

A Shield and a Buckler*

Wait a minute! We are not done…

What about the Negative Influence of Others on OUR
mental, emotional and physical well being?

Just us our immune systems guard us against virus and
toxin attack, there are ways to inoculate ourselves
against this insidious energy. Indeed, it is so deadly,
Hill refers to it as the DEVIL’S WORKSHOP in Chapter
15.

Helping You become “10-Foot Tall and Bulletproof” is
one of the chief aims of the Mentoring For Free system.

The KEY TOOL is… You guessed it… Self-Talk.

Ken Klemm – Florida, USA

P.S. What You THINK and FEEL toward me speaks so loudly,
what You say or do (live, on the phone and in text),
I cannot hear.

*His TRUTH is a shield and a buckler,
Let us not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day.

Retention and Persistence

Retention

05-28-2013

It has been said by many leaders in this industry, “MLM is the Great Equalizer.”

Regardless of background, experience or education,
anyone will succeed if they JUST DON’T QUIT.

PERSIST in WHAT? Gathering new leads, introducing
products and opportunity, making phone calls, sending
emails, posting on blogs and social media, etc.?

Yes, but what did we mention last week that ALWAYS
comes first?…

RAPPORT comes first, second, third, fourth, and always
forever!

The biggest struggle I hear repeated by most leaders is
RETENTION – keeping their distributors and customers.

When do we STOP building Rapport? When a person finally
buys our product or joins our Team? When a distributer
sponsors their first person?  When a distributor
achieves a leadership pin level?

I told You last week that my sponsor quit and his
sponsor quit. This happened with my first MLM back in
1974, and again with my current MLM.

So, why did I hang around when those whom I knew, liked
and trusted left? In both cases my up-line leader BUILT
know, like and trust with me – and NEVER STOPPED.

This also been said by many leaders, “The fortune is in
the follow-up.”

Is follow-up all about product and skills training? NO!
The main thing is Rapport, Rapport, RAPPORT!

Now, how do You Build Rapport? There are 3 simple
elements…

1. SMILE – mentally and physically forever and always.
This HABIT will lift Your sprit when it needs lifting –
just talk with someone.

2. SHUT UP & LISTEN – Yes, just STOP TALKING. Ask
questions, give positive feedback, be curious, probe
deeper.

3. PASSION – find out what someone really cares about
most. (“I’m just curious, what do You like to do in
Your free time – weekends, holidays and vacations?”)

These 3 make follow-up and Building Rapport so easy and
physically un-demanding – the other person does most of
the talking! Plus, at the end of the conversation, they
will tell You how much better THEY feel because of
talking with You! (And YOU feel better too, but that’s
a secret.)

Yes, answer any questions they may have – but focus
mainly on the RAPPORT.

So, why do people quit (other than Your failure to
build Rapport with them)?

A deficiency in one or more of these 3:

1. A clearly defined WHAT. Knowing everything about
What they want – the look, sound, feel, smell, taste,
etc. of it.

2. A strong, passionate WHY. The Chief Aim in life that
drives the Emotional Feelings about what they want.

3. An unshakable BELIEF. They must FEEL they deserve
what they want, are worthy of it, and are in the
process of achieving it.

You see, folks get distracted or discouraged by
focusing too much on the HOW – and want a new tool,
script, skill, technique, sponsor, product or
opportunity – but not enough focus on the 3 things that
matter.

Beating the same old drum here, SELF-TALK is the device
for building the Strength of the Three.

Build the Three, and the HOW will take care of itself –
even the mistakes are good.

It’s perfectly okay to take a “recovery” day or two
after an exhausting weekend, week, month, etc. – as
long as the “recovery” days don’t string along into a
new Habit of Procrastination.

the fence… until it’s time to mow.

The Secret Opportunity

Shhh, it's a Secret!05-21-2013

(This is an excerpt. Read the full article HERE.)

It is useful for us, as marketers, to realize our
prospects Decide to Act (buy our product or join our
team) based on EMOTION, not Logic.

Thus we can stop wasting our precious time trying to
CONVINCE folks with Live Presentations, Audios, Videos, PDFs and Websites full of facts, figures, charts and colorful graphics…

At least not until AFTER they have already Decided to
ACT.

In his recent Big Al Workshops, Tom Schreiter asks us
to place these four activities in their proper order:
Ice Breaker; Presentation; Close; Rapport.

Rapport (Know, Like and Trust) is ALWAYS first. Then
the Ice Breaker (introduction), followed by the Close
(decision), and the Presentation is ALWAYS last.

Huh? What? That’s not what they taught us in sales
training!

Let’s see if my sponsor followed this formula when I
joined my first MLM, back in 1974…

I was in college. My sponsor was my best friend, a
fraternity brother. (Rapport.)

One day he approached me extremely excited, “We’re all
gonna be rich!” (Ice Breaker.)

When I asked how he replied, “I can’t tell You. It’s a
secret.” (The Close – Curiosity. Dammit, I was IN! I
just wanted to know how we were going to do it. Being
in a fraternal order, I trusted the secret would be
revealed at the proper time.)

His sponsor, another close friend and frat brother,
reinforced this excitement and secret stuff. I was yet
unaware they were following a proven, duplicate-able
system.

By the time I saw the Plan (The Presentation), I was
BEGGING for it!

Now, here’s a piece of real GENIUS: At the end of the
presentation, I was STILL not permitted to join!

I had to see the presentation a SECOND time along with
guests I invited to see it with me. Then, and only
then, would I be permitted to join.

I did not know enough about the company, products, or
compensation plan to screw things up! I had to resort
to, “I can’t tell You. It’s a secret.”

Before long, I was traveling the East Coast by
Greyhound Bus toting my blackboard and overnight bag to
reveal “the secret” to friends of friends of friends.

Not long after I joined, my sponsor quit. Later on his
sponsor, my other friend, quit.

But by then, my up-line leader had become a close
friend. (Rapport, again!)

Now, this exact method will not work today in 2013.

Shoot! For one thing, we have much better presentation
tools. In 1974 we did not even have whiteboards! (Back
then I used any available chair to prop up my
blackboard. I did not want to tote an easel on the
bus.)

In many ways, this story is similar to my current MLM
experience…

My sponsor and his sponsor quit, and my up-line leader
has become my best friend.

The biggest difference is we all met on-line and built
Rapport over the telephone.

Today we have built a Team on three continents –
without leaving the house, and without ever ASKING
anyone to join!

No buses. No chalkboards.

So, how do You build deep rapport with folks You meet
on the street or on-line?

THAT secret is revealed in Michael Dlouhy’s book,
Success in Ten Steps,” and the skills are taught by
Mentoring For Free – to anyone who demands them at no
cost.

Ken Klemm – Florida, USA

P.S. When You don’t ASK, nobody tells You, “No.”

Which Came First – The Chicken or the Egg?

So, what comes first – FAITH or BELIEF?

A BELIEF is a physical thing – a string of neurons or cells in Your Brain which was built when You ACCEPTED repeated SUGGESTION.

FAITH is how You FEEL about the Belief. It is an ATTITUDE, a State of Mind.

So, which came first – the Belief or the Faith?

Like the chicken and the egg, it’s the wrong
question…

Because what comes first is…

The Grizzly Bear, Revisited…

Fear is a FEELING.

You feel hot, You feel cold, You
feel afraid. Fear cannot kill You. It is simply a
Feeling.

Your Subconscious Mind generates feelings in
pre-programmed reaction to events or other stimuli. It
taps into the Emotion Energy source located in the
solar plexus and polarizes it Negative to produce the
Feeling of Fear.

BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF FEAR

Fear triggers the Flight or Fight Response in Your
body. This increases Your chances of surviving the
attack of the grizzly bear.

The Response is designed to last only a few minutes.
After a few minutes, You will either have escaped the
grizzly bear or You have died. In either case, You no
longer need the Flight or Fight Response (FFR).

The FFR causes the secretion of two hormones. The first
hormone, adrenaline, increases Your heart rate and
dilates Your blood vessels. This increases the flow of
blood and oxygen to Your brain, nerves and muscles. You
thus have greater speed and reflexes to outrun Your
slowest companion. If You are alone, You have increased
strength, stamina, reflexes and strategy to mortally
wound the grizzly bear.

The second Hormone, glucocorticoid, shuts down most of
Your body’s other systems:

The reproductive system – You don’t need to be
concerned with seduction while the grizzly is chasing
You.

The digestive system – normal liver and pancreas
function and the processing of food are not important
while Your life is threatened.

The immune system – fighting off viruses is not a
concern while the beast is bearing down on You.

The cognitive system – clear thinking and problem
solving are of no concern while dealing with the
grizzly.

ALL Energy is being diverted to Flight or Fight.

If You are frequently afraid – suffering from chronic
stress, then Your reproductive, digestive, immune
and cognitive systems are not functioning a lot of
the time.

Do You often suffer with cold symptoms?
A stressed immune system leads to frequent illness.

Do You have frequent headaches?
An out-of-balance digestive system leads to disease.

Are You having difficulty getting pregnant?
Chronic stress.

Muddled thinking? Chronic stress.

Mentally Fit – The New Fitness for 2013

2013 Bald Eagle Light Show12-29-2012

Most people’s New Year’s Resolutions have something to do with getting their bodies into better shape.

But the NEW fitness is MENTAL Fitness. After all, everything begins with THOUGHT. All HABITS are wired in the BRAIN, not the muscle.

We build ourselves over entirely every eleven months, so we can say we are really only eleven months old at any time. If we build the same defects back into ourselves year after year, then we have no one to blame but ourselves for our condition.

We are the sum total of our own thoughts. Unfortunately, in school we were not taught HOW to think – only WHAT to think.

The volunteer organization Mentoring For Free was founded to help the MLM industry more than eight years ago with the motto, “Where You Learn HOW to Think, Not WHAT to Think.”

When Tom “Big Al” Schreiter examined the Mentoring For Free System before it launched he said, “This will change the Industry.” When he looked at the keystone in the system, the 30-Day Mental Cleanse, he said, “This will change the WORLD.”

Tom Schreiter is well known for saying, “MLM is a Personal Development Program with a Compensation Plan attached.”

So, whether You are building an MLM business, or striving to be a better spouse, parent, friend, neighbor, whatever… the 30-Day Mental Cleanse can help You seize Ownership of Your Mind.

When You Own Your Mind, You OWN YOUR LIFE!

The only cost for this program is the investment of Your time.

When You request Michael Dlouhy’s free e-book “Success in 10 Steps” via the form at Mind.MichaelDlouhy.net, I will personally send You an invitation to the 30-Day Mental Cleanse program – no strings attached.

Your Friend and Servant,

Ken Klemm – Spring Hill, Florida

P.S. FREEDOM Means Seizing Ownership of Your MIND.

A Boy Scout Comes Clean

sundown-lake

I spent several years as a Boy Scout … about 50 years ago. Great memories. I loved the camaraderie, and I especially loved the camping trips, hikes, canoeing sunsets, campfires, jamborees … Wow!

At my first jamboree of many dozens of scout troops, my scoutmaster sent me to the other side of the camp to get a sky-hook from a troop over there. Unfortunately, when I got there, that scoutmaster had already lent his sky-hook to a troop way back over near where I’d come from. Oh, well. I got there, but it turned out THAT scoutmaster had also lent out the sky-hook … I think you’re beginning to get the picture.

After a couple hours I returned to camp, apologizing to my scoutmaster because I had no sky-hook. He was very forgiving, however, because they’d gotten along without it. What he really needed at the moment was some black whitewash. He heard that a troop way the heck over there had it, if I would just go get it … so off I went.

Those were definitely the good old days.

Anyway, recalling some of these memories, I looked up one of my all-time favorite written pieces. You’ve probably read it before, but I’ll share it here now, because it’s a good one to bring back into current vision from time to time.

Boy Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan

Scout Oath (or Promise)

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law
